While there continues to be a proliferation of nutritional supplements targeting sub-segments of health conscious consumers, few products have evidence-based, scientifically validated data to support their claims. Each of us responds differently to supplements, often sub optimally, and anabolic resistance is not uncommon. While there is well recognized desire to maximize muscle health among highly motivated athletes; there is also an urgent need to prevent muscle loss among aging individuals in the general population and for optimizing muscle rehabilitation among military personnel and veterans - collectively pointing to a performance gap in current supplement guidance strategies. Personalized muscle growth profiling would better match individuals with optimal supplement formulations designed to prevent muscle loss and promote muscle gains.
